Coaching Staff
 
The head coach for each team is selected by the CYL Board of Directors in January of each new season.  The head coach will be nominated and confirmed during a board meeting.  Each Head Coach will then submit to the Board up to 2 assistance coaches.  The board will confirm the Head Coaches choice for assistant coaches. 
 
We are always looking for up and coming coaches. If you have an interest in coaching send us an email and we will contact you.  We have a need to limit the amount of players we can accept because of limitations on coaching staff, the more coaches we have the more young players we can allow into the program and share the sport of lacrosse with them.      

All Coaches with CYL are required to have the following: (we are the most demanding youth lacrosse organization in the State of Oregon)

US Lacrosse - Level 1 online certificate
First Aid / CPR valid certification
State of Oregon Concussion Certification
NCSI Background completion

All Coaches are encouraged to obtain the following certifications:

US Lacrosse Level 1 certificate (consist of online training and 8 hour instruction course)
State of Oregon Steroid Certification
Positive Coaching Alliance full certification
NFHS Coaching certification

All of our coaches also receive instruction, with class and field time if needed.  The coaches of CYL put in a huge time commitment to get trained and certified before they step on the field.
