COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Spring 2021 team training protocol has been created to fit inside the local authorities guidelines around youth sports. 

  • Selecting large facilities to allow for maximum distancing.
  • Strictly limiting attendance to players and staff (i.e. prohibiting spectators from attending).
  • Capping each field’s occupancy to 50 people.
  • Strategically scheduling training/practices to allow for entry/exit protocols and safe transitions.
  • Prohibiting “on deck” training participants from even entering the property until the existing participants have left
  • Limiting check-in to 15 mins prior to a training (and prohibiting early check in).
  • Requiring players to arrive outfitted in all their gear and without bags to minimize to need to congregate or change clothes.
  • Requiring and providing all players and staff to wear a mask or face shield at all times (even while playing) when social distancing can not be observed. 
  • Closing water fountains and requiring players to bring prefilled water bottles.
  • Posting signs reminding participants of the rules, including: masks required, max occupancy at each field (50), and social distancing. 
  • Requiring coaches and staff to clean and disinfect any shared equipment (and discouraging sharing equipment).
  • Requiring participants to bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • Frequently cleaning and sanitizing high-traffic areas such as entrances, exits, check-in tables and restrooms.
  • Prohibiting handshakes, high fives, fist/elbow bumps, chest bumps and group celebrations.
  • Prohibiting staff and players who have any symptoms of COVID-19 from participating. Participants who have reported any symptoms within the past 14 days are not allowed to participate. 
  • Requiring staff and players to practice healthy hygiene including washing their hands frequently and covering their sneezes and coughs.
  • Discouraging (via advance e-mail) any person, including players, at risk for severe illness or with serious from attending.
  • Communicating (in advance, via e-mail) all rules so participants will be prepared.
  • Appointing a sanitizing team who is tasked with monitoring compliance with all of the above.
  • Bathrooms – Each field will have its own portable bathroom – there will be no shared bathrooms between fields and no one will be allowed to access fields other than their own. Each bathroom will be disinfected in between games.
